Our Formula

SAM-e (S-Adenosylmethionine)

The University of Maryland Medical Center states, “SAMe can be effective in reducing symptoms of fibromyalgia – including pain, fatigue, morning stiffness, and depressed mood.”

SAM-e is made from amino acid methionine and ATP. Studies have shown it is effective for arthritis pain and shows both analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties.

Europe has had SAM-e available by prescription for many years as an antidepressant, and it has been available over-the-counter in the US since 1996. Dr. Ascanio Polimeni, a renowned physician in Rome, Italy, stated that “… doctors in Europe prescribe SAM-e for the therapy of many conditions, including depression, chronic fatigue syndrome, and fibromyalgia.”

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Service commissioned a three-year survey of studies conducted on SAMe. The published report concluded that it is effective for depression and osteoarthritis, without the harmful side effects.

A deficiency in vitamins B12 or folic acid may reduce levels of SAMe in your body.

Fucoxanthin is a natural ingredient found in brown seaweed.  It is a powerful anti-oxidant which helps fight against free radical damage and helps support cellular health.  It increases metabolism and boosts energy.  Fucoxanthin is a powerful ingredient that helps control pain

It is estimated that 60%-80% of Americans are deficient in magnesium. This critical mineral is responsible for over 300 enzyme reactions and is found in all of your tissues – but magnesium is mainly prominent and most important in your muscles, bones, and brain.

Magnesium can be an effective way to combat stress and studies show it improves your sleep. Your cells need magnesium to produce energy. It is necessary for many different chemical pumps to work, to stabilize membranes, and to help muscles relax.

Vitamin D3

Vitamin D3 is crucial for the absorption and metabolism of calcium and phosphorous, which both maintain and strengthen bones, teeth and prevent bone loss and bone disorders. It is an essential ingredient in reducing the symptoms of fibromyalgia.

D3 also protects against muscle weakness and immune system issues. It has been shown to reduce the risk of rheumatoid arthritis in women.

Greg Plotnikoff, MD, senior consultant with the Allina Center for Health Care Innovations in Minnesota published a study in 2003 on 150 people who came to a health clinic complaining of chronic pain. Virtually all of them – 93% – had extremely low vitamin D levels.

Vitamin B12

Vitamin B12 deficiency is usually reported with symptoms of fatigue. Vitamin B12 is essential in converting carbohydrates into glucose in the body. Sufficient B12 levels are linked to an increase in energy production and a decrease in fatigue and lethargy.

Vitamin B12 boost helps to ease your back pain by encouraging your body to thicken its protective coating around your nerves, so they don’t easily cause pain.

These B vitamins also help increase the level of SAMe in your body.

We only use the most bioavailable form of vitamin B12, and not the cheaper and more common cyanocobalamin (B12).

Somnus PM is an all natural sleep aid, that promotes restful sleep without the addicting and sedating side effects of prescription sleeping medications.

SOMNUS PM promotes a quick onset of sleep, improves quality of deep sleep, and promotes jet lag recovery.

SOMNUS PM and all products made by Doctor’s Label are all made in the USA, in an FDA certified facility with cGMP certification.  All Doctor’s Label products have a lifetime guarantee.

All of our products have been tested by a 3rd party lab to make sure all ingredients meet strict criteria for purity, potency, and safety.

Somnus PM has become very popular because of the superior and effective ingredients:

Melatonin is a natural hormone that plays a role in sleep. Melatonin production and release in the brain is related to time of day, rising in the evening and falling in the morning. Light at night blocks its production. Melatonin dietary supplements have been studied for sleep disorders, such as jet lag, disruptions of the body’s internal “clock,” insomnia, and problems with sleep among people who work night shifts.

Melatonin supplements may help some people with certain sleep disorders, including jet lag, sleep     problems related to shift work, and delayed sleep phase disorder (one in which people go to bed but can’t fall asleep until hours later), and insomnia.

Valerian root:

Used for sleep disorders, especially the inability to sleep.  It also promotes a reduction in restlessness, stress, fatigue, anxiety, depression, and menstrual disorders.  Valerian root also seems to improve the sleep quality of people who are withdrawing from the use of prescription sleeping pills.

Chamomile flower:

There is level B evidence that chamomile possesses anti-anxiety properties and could be used to treat stress and insomnia.

GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid):

GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) is a neurotransmitter that can dampen nerve activity and stress. Healthy people with insomnia often have reduced levels of GABA. Sleeping pills such as zolpidem and eszopiclone work by improving the ability of GABA to bind to receptors in the brain.

Passion Flower:

A natural herb used for nervous tension, anxiety, agitation, and insomnia relief. It’s very popular in the United Kingdom as a mild sedative for providing safe, restful, deep sleep because it has a calming effect.

In Germany, Commission E (equivalent to the FDA in the U.S.) has approved passionflower for insomnia and nervousness.  And speaking of safe, in the United States, passionflower does have Generally Recognized As Safe status from the FDA.

Lemon balm:

An herb from the mint family commonly used for anxietysleep problems, and restlessness. It has been shown to improve the length and quality of sleep in healthy people and in those with insomnia or sleeping disorders.

**We are so confident that Somnus PM will give you the most restful sleep possible, that we have instated a lifetime, no question asked, money back guarantee.
